WMZ Heat Meter & Controller
The RESOL WMZ is a heat meter set for general use in solar thermal hot water systems. The difference between a dedicated heat meter, like the WMZ, and the heat quantity measurement function on the Solarlogic controller, is that where on the controller, the flow rate information that is entered into the controllers data is fixed, and not calculated (The information on flow is estimated on the value that is set on the flowmeter), the WMZ has its own flow meter, and will accurately note any change to that which is set on the flow meter.
Both the Solarlogic and the WMZ can take into consideration what type and what mix of glycol is mixed into the system fluid. The set comprises of a 1) WMZ data processor, 2) a V 40 pulsed meter 3) two quantity PT1000 temperature sensors.
The flow meter WMZ calculates the heat quantity value using set parameters, the measurement of flow through the cylinder heat exchanger pipe work, and the RETURN temperature (after the heat or amount of heat has been transferred into the heat store), by precision temperature sensors (supplied with the set) and the evaluation of this by the impulses of the flowmeter.
Power failure protection guarantees that the adjusted system parameters and the calculated heat quantity are maintained in the case of a power cut. By means of push buttons, different channels can be chosen and user levels can be changed.
First Level – the temperature at selected points, the heat gained, and the volumetric flow are indicated on the screen. There is also an indicator light for indicating any temperature sensor defects that might arise and compromise the integrity of the readings shown.
Second level – displays system adjustment values, which can be adapted to changes in the system.The patented RESOL Vbus wiring method can be enabled to send display values to a RESOL controller or PC in order that the information may be logged or further processed.
