What is different about components used in solar systems?

Solar systems can work at much higher temperatures than traditional heating systems. The system is based on what we recognise is a sealed heating system, but installations must not use standard heating components, which are not engineered to meet this type of high temperature demand. All the solar components shown here at Intaeco have been designed to be rated for use with solar heating systems.

Solar Balancing Valve

Solar Balancing Valve

Intaeco flow regulating valves, that by manual adjustment can regulate the flow to any value between 2 and 12 litres per minute. Intaeco also have optional versions that can regulate 8 to 28 litres per minute.

The flow regulating valves have integral filling and flush ports with isolation valves. The top valve has a 'L' way action, which means when the port is opened, the the normal system flow through the valve is closed, allowing the lower flushing port to come into play.

Connections are 1" BSP female on the top, with direct connection to the solar pump in mind, however if the installer decides to locate elsewhere in the system, a 22mm x 1" male compression connector (avaible at all plumbers merchants trade counters) will convert back to copper. Like wise a SF20-0175R reducer (see Intaeco price guide list of fittings) will adapt the top connection to DN16 pipe. Lower connections are all direct to pipe, either 22mm copper or DN16 SS pipe
