TV launch for IntaEco solar vessel calculator
Specialist sustainable heating equipment supplier IntaEco has launched an iPhone app to help specifiers and engineers calculate the correct size of expansion vessel for their solar installations.
The app, which is available download for free from the iTunes store replaces a cardboard 'slide rule' version that had been in circulation for several years.
Regional TV news programme BBC Midlands Today chose to highlight IntaEco's app as part of a feature on how technology and smart phones are becoming part of everyday life.
Stuart Gizzi, MD of IntaEco, said: "There's no denying that calculating solar expansion vessels can be tricky, even with our cardboard calculator. This app will make things much easier. And as the news presenter explained so succinctly - if your expansion vessel is too big, you're wasting money; if it's too small, it could go bang."
IntaEco's range of solar expansion vessels is made by Zilmet and is designed for system temperatures reaching 110°C, and peaks of 130°C.
IntaEco lauded by heating industry for new green valve technology
Specialist renewable heating equipment company IntaEco has scooped 'Best Domestic Heating Product' of the year at the prestigious H&V News Awards.
The winning product IntaSol is a valve that allows solar heating to be incorporated into a combi boiler system, offering the dual advantage of solar power and hot water on demand. Before IntaSol was introduced solar heating required a stored hot water system, meaning a customer would have to scrap a perfectly good combi boiler.
IntaEco's commercial director Cynthia Fisher said: "When we introduced IntaSol, we knew it had huge potential impact on the renewable market. The marketplace agrees, as demonstrated by our sales of IntaSol to date.
"Working to reduce carbon emissions is no longer a 'nice-to-have' - it's already a global issue that has dominated the last decade. I'm proud to say we're working hard to provide heating solutions which will play a practical part in tackling this."
The H&V News Awards recognise companies for their skill and innovation and the awards ceremony is the heating and ventilating industry's night of glamour. Held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, the awards were hosted by comedian Hugh Dennis, who quipped about IntaSol: "I'm told it's a valve".
IntaSol is just part of a range of heating products designed for solar and ground source heating installations. More information, including technical specifications and advice can be found online at www.intaeco.co.uk
